A Little About Me!

Hello, and Thank You for taking some time to check out my art! My name is Colie and I am an Autistic artist that specializes is Realistic Pet Portraits.

I've always had a love for both art and animals for as long as I can remember. Then one day I decided to try drawing my sisters cat and immediately fell in love with it and realized drawing pets was what I wanted to do. 

Every commission I do, I put my heart and soul into and capturing the likeness & personality of your pet is my goal!

Autism & Art

One of my goals as an artist is to not only share my art with the world, but to help others on the spectrum know that their passions and hobbies matter! I was diagnosed as Autistic later in life which came with many challenges. Social Skills and Communication are at the top of my list of challenges, as goes for many others who are also on the spectrum. Working a "normal" job seemed impossible most days, so when I rediscovered drawing I knew I wanted to make this my career!

 

When I was in Highschool, I had a 2D art teacher who told me to never peruse art because it clearly wasn't for me. I believed her and quit creating art all together. Then in 2020, when the world came to a stand still, I decided to buy some art supplies and try drawing my sisters cat. I instantly fell in love. It was at that moment I told myself that the opinion of others will not get in the way of the things I love. 

 

I quit drawing for almost 8 years because one person told me I should never be an artist. I'm here to tell anyone who's ever been told similar things to
